Welcome to the SkyHR release notes – the place where all our little tweaks, big updates, and fun surprises live. Think of it as the diary of everything we’ve shipped to make HR simpler, smoother, and (dare we say?) more enjoyable. Take a scroll to see what’s new and check back often, as we’re always cooking up fresh updates!
12th December 2025
- Update: The task list user interface has had a little update to make it much more obvious when tasks are overdue, because who doesn’t love a polished to-do list?
10th December 2025
- Update: We have given the absence details screen a facelift. It now displays absence information more clearly, including allowance summaries and team overlaps. Also includes actions for approving or declining requests of course. All the same functionality, just clearer and easier on the eyes.
8th December 2025
- Update: On the employee summary page, we have replaced the simple text display of working days with a more user-friendly table. Now users can easily see which days the employee is scheduled to grace the office with their presence.
5th December 2025
- Update: Some number fields in reports have had a formatting update to use traffic light colouring based on their value. For example, in the sickness report, this shows red if the employee has had 10 or more days off sick in the year. It’s like giving the numbers a makeover, so they can finally express themselves properly.
3th December 2025
- Update: The Getting Started page has been updated in line with the latest fashion trends so that it is more visually stunning compared to what you had to endure last year.
1st December 2025
- Update: We have given the employee summary page a re-order. It now uses columns so we can see much more information about the employee at once. Because nobody likes scrolling forever to find their tax code. Stay tuned for more in this area as we are working to completely overhaul the employee summary page to make it an actual full summary, like the name says it should be!
25th November 2025
- Update: We have updated the workspace area showing you your direct reports to make it a little nicer on the eyes. We’ve also taken the opportunity to flag out any new employees that have appeared in this list for you in the last 30 days.
22nd November 2025
- New: We have added a new Employment Records Report showing you a history of each employment record change for your employees.
21st November 2025
- New: We have added a new Admin Notes Report showing all the administrative notes that you have logged against each employee.
- Update: Added some spiffy styling to the reports list page because as we all know, looking good is half the battle!
19th November 2025
- New: We have added a new Employee Assets Report showing you where all the company’s stuff is allocated. There is also the ability to include returned assets, in case you’re feeling nostalgic about a certain desk lamp.
17th November 2025
- Update: Based on some initial feedback, we’ve made it clearer when documents have expired in both the Documents and Pre-Employment checks reports. If an expiration date is in the past, it gets marked as red, and if the expiration date is in the next 30 days, it gets marked as amber. Check it out.
11th November 2025
- New: We have added a new Pre-Employment Checks Report showing all pre-employment check records for all employees. Suitable filters will let you drill down to the employees or pre-employment checks you’re interested in.

29th October 2025
- Update: Adds visual styling to the absence display on the home screen for better readability and distinguishes between sickness and other absence types. Because let’s face it, staring at plain text is so last decade.
26th October 2025
- Update: Our create new evaluation experience has been overhauled to remove all waiting times when building a new evaluation install.
21st October 2025
- New: If you’re onboarding a whole crew, things just got quicker. The Add Employee wizard now ends with a handy Add Another Employee button, so you can jump straight into the next one without heading back to the menu. Less clicking, more onboarding. Easy!
20th October 2025
- New: We’ve added a brand new Feedback Summary Report that gives you the AI-generated overview of feedback for every employee in one place. Instead of scanning individual messages, you can now see clear, concise summaries that highlight overall sentiment, themes, and areas for growth.
19th October 2025
- Update: Your reports just got a makeover! We’ve refreshed the table layout across SkyHR to make everything cleaner, clearer, and much easier on the eyes. The result? Tables that look a bit more like Excel, but without any of the faff that usually comes with Excel.
18th October 2025
- New: All Employee Feedback Report. You can now browse every piece of peer-to-peer feedback in one place, with the full power of SkyHR’s interactive reporting tools – filtering, sorting, searching, and exporting included as standard. Whether you’re looking for trends, recognition moments, or areas that need support, it’s all right there. It’s a simple way to make sense of your culture signals and keep track of how your team is supporting each other. Available now under Reports → Employee Feedback. Go have a look!
16th October 2025

11th October 2025
- Update: Replaces the feedback views with tabbed interfaces, so users can switch between list and values summary views to better understand the type of feedback given and received. You get a tab, you get a tab, everybody gets a tab!
- Update: Improves the display of feedback by italicizing prompts for better distinction (because who doesn’t love a good italic?).
10th October 2025
- Update: Adds a help panel to the documents view, because employees get lost in the sauce sometimes.
8th October 2025
- Update: We’ve added new help panels and friendly empty-state messages to the workflow builder. Now it’s easier than ever to create, manage, and understand your workflows — no guesswork required!
5th October 2025
- Update: We’ve added a new card to your workspace showing your recent feedback so that you don’t have to waste your time checking in every day to see what your lovely team mates are celebrating about you!
- Update: We’ve moved a few of the buttons around on the feedback page to put them in the table views.
3rd October 2025
- New Feature: Feedback just got easier! You can now leave kudos, encouragement, or constructive thoughts for your colleagues directly in SkyHR. Go on, make someone’s day.
18th September 2025
- Update: We’ve pushed the current employee panel up above the action buttons and subsection title to better separate out the function of the current page being viewed from the employee being viewed.
17th September 2025
- Update: Have you ever logged an absence on behalf of a direct report? Pretty annoying that you then also have to approve it, right? Well, you no longer need to. If you could have approved the absence you are logging, then we will just go ahead and automagically approve it for you.
16th September 2025
- Fixed: The timezone for some customers was incorrectly set to GMT-12. This caused the default date in calendars to be yesterday during morning HR admin sessions. We’ve fixed the flux capacitor in the time machine and today is now correctly today again.
15th September 2025
- New: Say hello to Spotlight. Right on your home page, it keeps you up to date with celebrations like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as who’s in or out this week. All at a glance.
- Fixed: When previewing an employee from the directory, an error could be shown if the employee didn’t have their manager set. But not everyone has a manager, right? So we made it stop showing errors now 🙂
- Fixed: Editing your personal details could result in a not found error. It won’t anymore because we can always find you now.
12th September 2025
- Fix: We’ve updated the import wizard to only display the fields that matter to you. No more internal bits sneaking into your data mapping.
- Update: Do you have staff spreadsheets where the National Insurance Number column is called something slightly different? SkyHR is now much better at spotting those variations and matching them automatically.
11th September 2025
- New: Onboarding just got a glow-up! ✨ We’ve refreshed the setup steps in SkyHR with clearer titles and more fun descriptions. From defining your mission to adding your team, getting started is now smoother (and a little more entertaining).
10th September 2025
- New: Your mission deserves the headlines! You can now share your company’s mission statement and values directly to social media and beyond – show the world what you stand for.
9th September 2025
- Update: On the mission statement screens, we’ve swapped the rocket icon for a compass – because your mission isn’t about blasting off, it’s about finding the right direction together.
8th September 2025
- Update: The Mission Statement and Values screen was looking a bit squished on smaller mobile devices. So we de-squished it a little.
1st September 2025
- New: Mission & Values on your home screen! Now your team won’t just clock in, they’ll tune in to your company’s purpose and values, front and centre every day.
